NHBC Pride in the Job recognition for Baker Estates’ Site Manager in Dartmouth

Baker Estates is proud to announce that Steve Hobden, Site Manager at Little Cotton Farm in Dartmouth, has been given special recognition from the National House Building Council (NHBC), winning a Pride in the Job Quality award.

From a field of more than 10,000, around 400 UK site managers have won a Quality Award in the first round of NHBC’s Pride in the Job Awards 2024, representing the top five per cent of those who entered.

Ian Baker, Managing Director at Baker Estates, said: “We are delighted that Steve has been selected as a Pride in the Job Quality Award winner for his commitment to quality and impeccable site management. Pride in the Job Quality Awards say a great deal about what we are trying to achieve at Baker Estates and the ongoing progress we are making.

Steve said: “It’s very satisfying to be recognised by NHBC. I take an enormous amount of pride in every site I work on and see this as very much a team award. Without everyone’s full commitment, support and hard work this award would not have been possible.

“Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is a real honour and a Pride in the Job is the most highly regarded award in the house-building industry.”

Judging for the Awards is rigorous, with each site manager assessed across six key areas including consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.
