Baker Estates will be working with Sovereign Housing Association to deliver over £6m worth of affordable homes to local people in Dartington thanks to its two new build developments in the town.
Sovereign is to acquire 36 quality new homes from the award-winning south west housebuilder as part of its Section 106 agreement.
The two sites – Sawmills and St Mary’s - have the benefit of planning approval from South Hams District Council for the development of a total of 120 new residential dwellings and associated infrastructure.
It’s the first major new homes boost for the town in a long time as Graham Hutton, Operations Director at Baker Estates, explains: “This is a fantastic investment in new affordable homes in Dartington which will be welcomed by local people.
“We are delighted to be entering this partnership with Sovereign Housing Association on this development and for these affordable homes to be enjoyed by young people and families for years to come. The first affordable homes are on target to be handed over early in the new year.”
