Crowning glory as Baker Estates helps school children mark The Coronation with crown decoration and drawing competition

Children from Stoke Fleming Primary School celebrated The King’s Coronation in style thanks to a competition by Baker Estates.

The award winning south west housebuilder, which is building its second phase of new homes at Little Cotton Farm, in Dartmouth, teamed up with the school to help mark the big day.

Baker Estates donated over 50 crowns and craft packs to the school for the youngsters to decorate and draw portraits of King Charles III as well as giving each pupil a special Coronation goody bag.

Annie Williams, Sales and Marketing Director, at Baker Estates, said the community focused housebuilder wanted to mark this once in a generation event with a fun and memorable initiative.

Annie said: “It was a real joy to see the children have so much fun and commemorate this special day. We work closely with the communities where we are building homes and The King’s Coronation seemed the perfect opportunity to work with some of the younger children in Stoke Fleming on a creative project while also celebrating an important event in our country’s history.”

Kelly Barraclough, the foundation stage teacher at Stoke Fleming Primary School said the children enjoyed the whole experience of creating their own crowns and drawing pictures of The King.

She said: “Children of all ages love craft projects and this heart-warming initiative has really helped them have fun and be involved in this historic event in their lives.

“Thanks to Baker Estates for coming up with the idea and donating the crowns. We’re sure the children will be wearing their crowns with pride during the Coronation weekend.”

Baker Estates is currently building two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes at Little Cotton Farm in Dartmouth, including houses and apartments, starting from £259,995.
