Councillor helps to lay first brick at Baker Estates’ landmark housing development in Dartmouth

Councillor Helen Reeve was on hand to help award winning Baker Estates lay one of the first bricks at its new 450 home flag ship development in Dartmouth.

Little Cotton Farm is the first major new homes scheme for 20 years in the town and will comprise of 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom homes, including traditional houses and bungalows. Locals will also benefit from 81 affordable homes across the site.

The first phase will consist of just 24 homes and will be available later in 2021 with a show home expected to be launched in the summer. Baker Estates says the views will be spectacular from many of the homes offering both coastal and countryside vistas for miles.

Councillor Helen Reeve said: “It was an honour to be asked to lay the first brick at Baker Estates’ exciting new development at Little Cotton Farm and get a chance to speak to the site manager first hand.

“As the homes start to appear above ground level you’ll get an idea of what a lovely location this will be to live in. It will also give many locals and those seeking affordable housing the chance to live in the area where they were brought up.”

Graham Hutton, Development Director at Baker Estates, said: “We were delighted Councillor Reeve could join us and help with the first official brick laying at this landmark development for the beautiful town of Dartmouth. Little Cotton Farm will offer a wide range of homes on the open market as well as a large number of affordable homes for locals.

“We are proud to add another stunning development to our collection of homes in the South Hams, which have proven to be extremely popular with locals.”

Baker Estates is currently selling the last remaining homes at The View in Malborough and has  completed its multiple award-winning development Great Court Farm in Totnes last year.

Just a short distance from the centre, Little Cotton Farm, on Nelson Rd, Baker Estates says it is already appealing to first time buyers, second steppers, families and down sizers alike.

Offering a myriad of shops, cafes and restaurants, the historic coastal town of Dartmouth offers a lifestyle hard to beat in the region. As well as the river Dart and its picturesque harbour, locals enjoy costal walks and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The development also offers over six acres of employment land, which will provide locals with job opportunities as well as contribute to the local economy.

House hunters are being urged to register their interest in the development ahead of the launch of the sales & marketing suite in Spring 2021 and the show home later in the Summer.
