Local housebuilder Baker Estates has reaffirmed its commitment to community support through the long term sponsorship of two vans for Rowcroft Hospice, a charity providing vital care to people with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon.
One van supports Rowcroft’s charity shops, while the other focuses on furniture collections, both playing a pivotal role in the hospice’s ability to generate funds.
Over the past year, the vehicles have travelled approximately 30,000 miles, visited 1,500 donors’ homes, collecting around 5,000 pieces of furniture.
This has contributed to an estimated £195,000 in income through the sale of donated furniture.
On top of that the charity has delivered 26,000 boxes to Rowcroft’s charity shops across South Devon helping to raise more funds.
Baker Estates is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025 and also aims to raise well over £10,000 for the Rowcroft charity with a year-long series of community initiatives and fundraising challenges.
