Baker Estates is once again proud to sponsor the Appledore Book Festival which takes place from the 15th to 25th September and features some of the greatest names from the world of literature, broadcasting and media.
The festival will run a variety of workshops, children’s activities, walks and talks, an art exhibition, as well as food and drink events.
All proceeds from the festival go towards running Appledore Book Festival’s Schools Week Outreach Programme and helping the local community by supporting various projects.
Baker Estates will be sponsoring Ann Cleeves, an author of more than 35 critically acclaimed novels, some set in North Devon. In 2017 she was awarded the highest honour in crime writing – the Crime Writers’ Association Historical Diamond Dagger. Ann is also a patron of the Appledore Book Festival.
Interviewing Ann at the festival will be patron, broadcaster and presenter, Judi Spiers. Judi is best known for presenting Pebble Mill in the late 80s and early 90s. She also had her own morning show on BBC Radio Devon for many years.
Ian Baker, Managing Director at Baker Estates, said: “We are delighted to once again support this well-known book festival as part of our community support in the town. It promises to be an excellent week of events and speakers.”
