Baker Estates has emphasised its continued commitment to southwest charities having handed over a cheque for £15,000 to Torquay based charity, Rowcroft Hospice.
Baker Estates staff organised a number of fundraising initiatives including running the Ox challenge, cycle rides as well as a charity golf day.
Baker Estates has also continued to sponsor the cost of two vans for the hospice which is a vital part of Rowcroft’s retail operation to collect donations from house clearances and unwanted white goods.
Every year the hospice looks after more than 2000 patients providing comfort, support and specialist services in patients’ homes, the community and at Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit in Torquay.
Annie Williams, Head of Sales at Baker Estates, said: “We are determined to continue to support Rowcroft and I know the Bakers Estates’ team will be committed to raising even more this year. Many of our staff have experience of or know people who have benefited from the wonderful work that Rowcroft provides, it is a vital charity within our community.”
Rowcroft Hospice’s Chief Executive, Mark Hawkins, said: “The continued sponsorship of the two Citreon vans allows our retail enterprise to thrive and fund vital care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. I am delighted that Baker Estates will continue to support us so that we can continue to collect furniture and ensure our 16 shops are always fully stocked with goods to sell.
“We are passionate about delivering outstanding care to our community and I know Baker Estates is equally committed to delivering outstanding homes in the southwest. Support from local businesses, like Baker Estates, is an absolutely vital stream of income for us.”
