Baker Estates has been crowned Small Housebuilder of the Year at the prestigious Housebuilder awards 2021 as the industry came together to celebrate the best in the UK new homes sector.
It was double recognition on the night, as the Newton Abbot based developer also scooped Best Residential Development (three storeys or fewer) for The View, Malborough, a stunning community of 85 unique homes.
Judges praised ‘The View’ for ‘the aspirational high-quality design-led scheme that reflects the local vernacular, which also draws in the rural nature of the location to give the homes a high-quality unique feel’.
Graham Hutton, Development Director at Baker Estates, said: “We are delighted to win these two top industry awards which recognises our growing reputation for building quality new homes in the industry. The View has been an exemplar development that has been genuinely appreciated by local people and homeowners alike; and is an example of how a modern housebuilder can engage, from the outset, with the community and parish council to exceed expectations.
Baker Estates Managing Director, Ian Baker, added: "It’s been a huge team effort over the years and I’m delighted to receive these awards on behalf of the entire company.”
The awards follow a string of success for the top-rated southwest housebuilder including Best House at The What House? Awards in 2020.
